CARLY BEDWELL

I’m Carly. The creative, easy-going, nature-loving heart behind the camera. Celebrating softness and savouring heartfelt moments with family photography across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that photography is one of the biggest loves of my life. My camera and I have been an almost inseparable duo for two decades, and capturing precious moments of family life has become an intrinsic part of who I am.

That natural pull to documenting the honest, authentic connection and undeniable love of a family guides my work. It isn’t about finding the perfect pose; it’s about capturing the raw emotion of a moment in time for you and your most treasured ones.

MY METHOD & APPROACH

What’s important to me, as your photographer. 

Life with children is joyous as you witness them experience the world for the first time. That’s what I capture. The authentic, earthy, soulful moments that tell your story, from the first babbles, to the quiet, the uncontrollable giggles and the adventures to the tender moments of raw, honest love, always true to you.

AN ODE TO OUR TIME TOGETHER

When you invite me to photograph your family, my role is simple: to exist alongside you. I want you to feel safe and free to be completely yourselves. No pressure, no urgency, no forced poses.

I like my clients to think of me less as ‘a photographer’ and more as a comfortable companion with a camera, tagging along for the day. Your children can run barefoot through the forest, climb trees, eat snacks or snuggle close in your arms without you worrying that I might judge. I’ll be the calm presence when your baby needs a moment to settle, the playful grown-up who joins in your children’s games, and the quiet observer catching the in-between glances between you and your small souls.

Whether it’s a tender cuddle with your toddler, giggles spilling out on a woodland walk, or the quiet contentment of existing together, I’ll be there to notice it, and to preserve it for you.

Their first days in the world are so incredibly tender. In the comfort of your own home, I capture the tiny details, curled fingers, sleepy stretches, the way they melt into your arms.

Every gallery I create is crafted with time, patience, and love. I pour myself into the editing process, taking the time each story deserves so that every image feels thoughtful and full of life.

It’s never about how many photographs I deliver, it’s about the quality, the emotion, and the authenticity of each one. My hope is that, when you look through your gallery, it is so carefully curated that it feels like stepping right back in to your memory. Warm, honest, and full of sentimentality.
