An Introduction to my new chapter.

Hertfordshire Motherhood, Newborn and Family Photographer.

This has been the hardest year. My dad’s health. The girls growing up faster than I can keep up with. Selling the home that held so many of our memories. All the weight and love that comes with being an only child. It has been one of my biggest life challenges, and it has changed me in ways I am still trying to understand.

Through all of it, I kept coming back to one thing. My why.

I have always known it, but for a long time I was trying to fit myself into too many boxes. Chasing versions of myself that never felt like home. Saying yes to things that did not line up with the artist, the mother or the woman I wanted to be.

A huge part of my why has always come from mothering without my own mum. Losing her so young shaped me deeply. It taught me how fragile time is. How photographs become precious beyond words. How they turn into the closest thing you have to someone you loved. It made me realise how important it is to hold onto the tiny moments, because one day they become the memories you reach for.

Rebranding is not saying goodbye to the past. It is evolving. It is a quiet nod to everything the last four years have brought me. All the growth. All the lessons. All the gentle moments that shaped who I am today as a mother and as a Hertfordshire family photographer.

Now I know exactly where I want to be. Creating space for the natural moments. The soft, honest memories at home and outdoors. Capturing the precious little pieces of life that mean everything. The ones that make your heart ache when the moment has passed. The ones you want to hold onto forever.

This is the heart of Fern and Wild. A home for relaxed storytelling, whether you are welcoming a new baby and looking for a Hitchin newborn photographer, or hoping to document a slow, simple moment with your family in the woods or in your living room. These are the stories I feel called to preserve.

Fern and Wild is built from all of it. The hard bits and the beautiful bits. The weight of the last year and the hope that came with it. The love of motherhood. The pull of nature. The belief that our stories deserve to be remembered.

I have learned so much along the way, and I could not have done any of this without you. Every message, every booking and every kind word has helped me step into this new chapter with so much gratitude.
